untitled eyelash drama

this is what ive been working on recently. its a large piece, just over A2 size and here i have used a mixture of watercolour and black ink. i use no digital jiggery pokery on my paintings as i think they lose some of their charm, so what you see is what you get here, all hand drawn and painted by me.
i'd love some ideas what i could call her.....please let me know if you think of something brilliant. my mind is blank.

shine bright like a diamond

You’re a shooting star I see
A vision of ecstasy
When you hold me, I’m alive
We’re like diamonds in the sky

I urge you all to click on the link below and check our rihannas performance on the UK's X-Factor. amazing, how many girls do you know wont even got out in the rain for fear of risking their hair and make-up?, let alone sing live on TV while in the middle of rainstorm - the effect was amazing though, really powerful.
i love this woman, shes a total fox.

cute birthday gift for him

so, my 'him' lives in a different city to me at the moment. hopefully temporarily, but even temporarily is enough. our relationship now consists of near constant emails and texts as well as the normal phone calls. we email each other pictures, what we're eating, nice views, my nail varnish (especially if i know he'll hate it...anything glitery he loathes!) the dogs...basically everything so we get an insight into each others lives on a daily basis. theres also the opportunity to be funny, and theres nothing quite like opening an email and laughing out loud at a silly picture. because i know that that was his intention. to make me smile from miles away. i know he's thinking of me and that makes me smile even more.
anyway. its his birthday soon, and, as with everything else at the moment im trying to be more creative rather than just buying something expensive. i also cant afford to do that anymore. so heres what i came up with.
he needs a new wallet - thats easy.
but how to make it special?
do you remember when passport photo booths used to give you 4 different pictures? and you got them in a strip? and you and your boyfriend used to squeeze into a booth and have cute pictures done? me too.
except they dont exist anymore. you get 1 picture, in colour and its massively expensive.
so i made my own version to slip into his new wallet. i wanted to keep things light hearted and to look, in the pictures like i normally look. also known as. not too staged. no airbrushing. normal hair and makeup.and some silly faces.

once i had taken all the photos i needed, i turned then into black and white images in paintshop pro and adjusted the sizes. then after placing them into a strip and printing them onto photography paper. BOOM. old skool passport pics that i can slip into the wallet.
i wont tell him, so he'll find them by accident, hopefully when im not there.
what do you think???
i think everyone should try this. its so cute, especially if you're away from your loved one x
happy birthday G xx
(and no - he doesnt read this blog!)

chanel for life

whats more classic than chanel? the 2.55 and the classic black jacket are proof that nothing is more enduring. not often do the words timeless mean just that. but, the 2.55 especially remains largely unchanged, and carries history, quality, style and instant recognition whenever it is used  by one of is legions of fans.
what i really love about chanel though, is the versatility. that while rhianna is wearing vintage specs (see above) the queen could just as easily be carrying a handbag. a young teenager somewhere may be wearing a chanel nail varnish (because thats all she can afford...bit its STILL chanel!) while a friend of mine is receiving one from her darling husband on the birth of their first child.
i dont own a 2.55.....

my ultimate party outfit

its christmas and its party time. i dont do sparkly frocks - never have. i favour jeans and a top with a blazer and heels. for any event, any occasion, any dress code. to spice that combo up a bit for the festive season i'll be concentrating on mixing textures and adding seriously amazing accessories. the best thing....? all the elements of this outfit are so versatile that i'll wear them all season long - and not just for an evening out.
the jumper + boyfriend jeans and white converse = super cute and cosy.
the jeans + white shirt and black patent brogues = classic
the shoes + ANYTHING = seriously hot.

topshop jumper £42

H&M jeans £29.99

Kurt Geiger Elliot shoes £220

Mulberry clutch £495

Marc Jacobs rose gold watch £269

links skull bracelet £135

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing alot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and i believe in miracles"

homemade christmas gifts don't have to be twee...!

so, i have been thinking about christmas presents already as im in a very different financial situation this year. i cant simply turn up at selfridges on christmas eve and throw a wad of cash at the situation. i need to be a little more creative, clever, and that hated word...FRUGAL. grrrrrr.
sister first. so, after tailing her through topshop to see what she was currently lusting after i picked up on 2 trends that are ticking all her boxes. denim and studs.
a little bit of a rummage through my vast wardrobe and a root around the internet uncovered these little gems of inspiration...
balenciaga

ritas rockin' a stud or 2!

balenciaga again
so, having unearthed a denim jacket from the depths of my closet i laundered it. while it was drying i sifted through my filing cabinet of wonder and collected studs of various sizes and shapes (bought previously from studsandspikes.com. its an american site so the delivery time is quite long but its far cheaper than any UK based sites that i have found.)

and to work i went....

blank canvas
ingredients

the first 3 lines

its taking shape
adding balance
safety pins
finito!

im thrilled with the result although my finger tips are KILLING me! i really like it. i was going to bleach out some areas of the denim as well as i really like that effect (see the balenciaga jacket above) but im not sure if that would be to my sisters taste. also, thats something that should have done before i started studding like a whirling dervish. im really tempted to do one of these for myself....new jacket for what probably cost me £4!

halloween hair

as my friend and i went out to the local beer festival on the saturday after halloween we decided that full-blown fancy dress was probably a little bit overkill, so, we went for makeup and big hair. she made the most of her natural curls by backcombing them to within an inch of their life. i went for a gaga inspired devil horn/kitty ears. alot of backcombing, alot of pins and a decent application of eyeashes and we were good to go......please excuse the crude photography. enjoy!

Emanuelle Alt - Style GOD

this woman must be worshipped. i love that its effortless, stylish, dressed down and yet sooooo sophisticated.
 good lord.
she rocks my world.

Currently lusting after.....

\topshop midi jersey dress £24

Andre Nicole jacket £55

Converse high tops £45

Topshop ring £5

topshop ring £5

Alexander McQueens ring £145

Adidas bobble hat £20
This, my loves, is my current dream outfit. It is, for me, a perfect mix of glam, casual, funky and with gothic touches from the rings. having dreamt this outfit up from window shopping both online and on the high street, these would be my first choices. However, since i am a penniless artist now - its rather more boohoo.com and ebay than alexander mcqueen. this is not to say that they are any less impressive i might add. i just recieved delivery of a black jersey midi dress from boohoo.com today for the, quite frankly, BARGIN price of £12 and the fit is remarkable. Once styled, i will upload a picture of it.
happy bargin hunting....if you have any money saving tips to share - please feel free, the more money saved = the more we can buy!!!
